Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting on the forums. I was wondering if I could get any recommendations for a custom build with a $700 budget. I already have a monitor, mouse and keyboard.

The computer will be used mostly for gaming and writing papers for school.

Thanks in advance.

Just wondering, (learning myself) Why go with an i3 over something AMD? Aren't AMD cpu's better on low budget builds? :)

Haswell i3's are really damn fast. That's about it.

And you can upgrade to a 4770k later with ease

Based off of his needs and 90% of the people out there, nobody needs a 4770K. It would be a huge waste of money.

I agree with the posted build.

Fair point, but if he were ever to need more CPU power it's easier and cheaper to grab an i5 or i7 than have to swap motherboard and CPU from AM3+ to the Haswell.
