Computer shuts down upon wireless USB headset connection

Hello,

I'm asking on behalf of someone who doesn't know a lot about computers, I can't really help him but I thought it was worth a shot asking you people.

Here's his problem : the computer will shut down as soon as he connects his kid's headsets. It works fine for his headset and other USB devices, but the computer will shut down as soon as he connects the little USB thingy of the wireless headsets. It worked fine before.

It's a prebuilt computer that he bought 3-4 years ago, I don't know the brand/model but here are the specs :

Cpu Name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7200 @ 2.53GHz Cpu Core(s): 2 @ 2.5 GHZ OS: Windows NT 6.0 32-bit (Vista)Physics System Driver: NVIDIA PhysX RuntimeCard Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Renderer: GeForce GT 610/PCIe/SSE2 (2gig) Version: 4.3.0

Here are links to the two headsets that will not work anymore :

He tried all the USB ports of that computer, and it's still not working. His USB sticks and own headset (Turtle Beach) are all working fine.

I told him to try the headsets on another computer, but that's about all that I could do for him.

Do you guys have experience with a similar problem? What can he do to find the source of the problem?

Note Both headsets and the computer are out of warranty.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Sounds like a driver problem/conflict. But also can be because it's originally for console, and don't have the proper architecture for PC. Just a guess though. Best is like you said, try in another PC/laptop. All come to worse, maybe just use it as wired. Or exchange for some other headphones....
