Which CPU should I get?

I posted here first over a month ago about building my first computer and everyone was very helpful.  But for some reason my card didn't allow a Newegg purchase so I never got my CPU and was thinking I could take advantage of that.  Here is the link for the parts I already picked and I have all of them except the CPU https://pcpartpicker.com/list/p3PnyK  The original CPU is the i5 12400F for $176 USD and I'm thinking of getting the i5 12600K for $265 USD.  First, do you think these CPUs are worth it at this price?  Second, how much better would the 12600K be and is it worth it? Thanks

Depends on a few things.  How much money you have, how much money you make, how much money you want to spend on a PC, and how sensitive you are to your friends mocking you for only having a 12400F.

 

Actually, the 12600K is a better match for the 3070.  Is it worth it?  I'd do it.

Ok so I made a silly mistake.  I assumed the pcpartpicker would only offer compatible cpus for my build.  The 12600K is not compatible.  Here's what is:

 

i5 12600 for $240 (Amazon)

i5 12500 for $210 (BH)

i5 12400 for $194 (newegg)

i5 12400F for $176 (amazon)

 

I'm really thinking either the 12600 or 12400F since they're on amazon and I get free delivery.  So new question: is the 12600 worth it over the 12400F with the price

No I have no idea about that.  But on the pcpartpicker, in which im only picking a cpu because Newegg didn't send it with the other stuff, it says the 12600k is not compatible with my build.  However 12600 and 12400 are.  But can you tell me the difference between the 12600 and 12400F?

The 12600k isn't compatible since the 660 boards can't overclock.

 If I have it right.

 

It'll work, you just can't oc.  So that's a false red flag by PCPartPicker.

Yes, it's basically the same CPU as the 12600K but with the iGPU disabled (that's the F)

That listing looks sketchy. Ships from China, is $55 cheaper than Newegg and the seller has 7 sales and 71% feedback rating. In any case it is out of stock.
