Windows 11 constant hitching

Hi, I recently got an HP Victus 16 laptop, and unfortunately it is only compatible with the steaming pile of crap that is Windows 11. My main issue right now is that it is constantly freezing. Navigating around file explorer regularly hitches for 5 seconds. In Pro Tools, every minute or two it freezes. In games it will freeze for 5 seconds every now and then. It doesn't hard crash, but makes it incredibly slow to try and get any work done. Microsoft and HP support have been useless, because of course they just blame the other for the issue, or say it's the specific programs I'm using.

Battery saver: off

Any suggestions on what might be causing this would be incredible.

If this is the pre-installed copy of Windows, I’d have wiped it. 11 is fine and doesn’t do what you’re describing on a fresh install on properly working hardware.

Your issue is likely something running in the background that came pre-installed. I’d be looking very closely at the Startup tab in Task Manager and the Processes tab while using the PC to see what’s going on.

That or just wipe it.

This is a completely fresh install. My CPU is never at more than 5-8%. Memory usage also hovers around 25-30%, as when I'm using Pro Tools, I don't have Firefox open.
