Posted August 11, 2022 So, I used to be able to use my XBOX One controller via bluetooth, no wireless dongle or extra stuff. Then all of the sudden, it would not work, and apparently not working is the default, and I was apparently lucky for having it work before. So I went wired. Switched over to Series X when it came out, same thing, no bluetooth. Been playing on it wired, which is not nearly as bad because USB-C is actually secure unlike Micro USB. However, recently my specific controller doesn't connect. Right now, it is connected via USB to the PC, but the XBOX turned on. It's literally wirelessly connected to the XBOX, while physically plugged into the PC. Usually some power off/on cycles work. This has been happening more often recetnly, and power cycling works less often. Like I'll have to not use it for like a week, and then it somehow works...? Until it doesn't. It's really only my main use Series X controller. PS5 controller works, but some games, like Gamepass stuff requires DS4Windows and I prefer XBOX stick placement in all games that aren't fighting games. My other XBOX pads work, but they are special edition wall hangers. Any help, other than buy a new 'main use' XBOX controller, which I feel is wasteful..? Posted August 11, 2022 I haven't been able to get the wired connection to work on my desktop. The way you switch them is you hold the share button on the top of the controller (by the left triggers) and the xbox button. Once it starts rapidly flashing you can connect it to PC via bluetooth. Oh I completely forgot! Not all XBOX controllers work via Bluetooth but it is very easy to tell if yours will/should. View the attached image. Posted August 12, 2022 They work via Bluetooth (if you have the model which has BT capability) but the dongle is better. Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy. If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear. I think I googled it years ago. I just got the Xbox adapter so now every Xbox one controller will work on my PC wirelessly.
