Budget (including currency): 2500€? (flexible)

Country: Austria

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Webbrowsing, AAA gaming

existing parts lists: mouse, keyboard, monitor, soundbar

when to buy: this month/as soon as possible

resolution + refresh rate: 1080p/144hz for now, later I will upgrade to 1440p/144hz

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/MNBstn

Planned Build:

MoBo: Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor

GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 6900 XT 16 GB GAMING OC Video Card

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory

Storage: Samsung 980 Pro Heatsink 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

PSU: Corsair RMx (2021) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Case: Lian Li LANCOOL III ATX Mid Tower Case

I will sell my current pc to my brother so I'm building myself a new one to use for the next at least 5 years.

I still have a few questions about my proposed build.

1)CPUs

Mediamarkt prices:

Ryzen 5 5600X = 210€

Ryzen 7 5800X = 300€

is it worth it to spend the 90€ more and buy a seperate cooler, or not really?

2)GPUs

rx6800xt ~ 850€

rx6900xt ~ 1000€

rx6950xt ~ 1200€

I'm guessing that with these prices the 6900xt should be the best price performance wise, right?

Going AMD this late in the cycle will not give you a futureproof PC. I’d either go Intel 12th gen for a year of upgrades or, better yet, wait until Zen 4 drops. That’ll get you one hell of a futureproof PC.

Since you said you want it really quickly, I’d go Intel 12th gen.

About what id recommend

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/8PN6Nc

The 12400f will outperfrom the 5600x in terms of gaming, and it's usually cheaper, so I'd get that instead

Cheap mobo thats good and has good features

Cheapest kit of 32gb ram

Decent 2tb storage

Cheaper 6900xt

Kept the case for a reference price, but you can switch it back to the original

At that price of that psu, you might as well get a higher wattage one

The 6900xt is in a good middle ground between the 2 other cards listed, since I wouldn't pay 200 extra dollars for a 6950xt

No such think as future-proof. Best to build a flexible machine now that can be easily upgraded after 5 years.

Saying that, I'd rather you wait for AM5 and RDNA 3 that is meant to come out late half of this years. This new architecture will be most fitting for compatibility and optimization for new parts in years to come. 2500€ will go a long way even with early adopters tax.

I mean if they think future proof is 3-5 years, sure 😉   I mean forever meant 9 years for my marriage, so I can see that!

Hate that damn term.

Picked a 12600K for e-cores and overclocking as well as a futureproof PSU

That psu is a massive waste of money. Same goes for the board.

A 1000W Gold unit would be plenty, and a 12700F and B660 board will give the same performance whilst having the extra cores/threads.
