Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

That's a capacitor in the audio section. It's not necessary, it's just that you might have slightly worse audio on that board. If you've got soldering skills, you can add another cap on there (it's an MLCC, find the right size package and just get a larger package for this), but personally I wouldn't care enough to worry about that.

So, funny story, I've just ripped this one off of my brand new motherboard (MSI PRO B660M-A DDR4)  😢 :

1 - the place from which I ripped the part off

2 - the item looked exactly like the one that the arrow points to.

How bad is it? Any idea what it was doing there? I've booted up and so far everything SEEMS to be wroking. Extremely slow though, but maybe that's because I havent installed the drivers yet. So yeah, I guess I'm gonna go to a nearest spot where I can have this soldered back together. I would like to know something more nonetheless if possible, especially since it's friday evening.

PS

This was a really dog day, I've got a fever and I never ever done anything so stupid as destroying the electronics today. Please be gentle.

Some more info if anyone is interested:

I'm experiencing huge lost of network performance (ping, speed) though onboard ethernet. It kinda makes sense, since both audio and ethernet on this board are Realtek so maybe they share the circuit or something (I can only guess, no idea).

There's something else going on there. They are designed to have nothing to do with each other. There's probably a driver issue with the onboard ethernet, uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
