Hi, I got two systems without GPU. A i7 4770k Z97 32GB DDR3 1866 Mhz SSD and  i3 6320 Z170 32GB DDR4 2133 Mhz SSD. The better PSU of the two is 850W. I’d like to throw a GPU into the better one of them for gaming and emulation including Yuzu. Want to get into Steam and Genshin and want a GPU I can carry forward to my next system at around $400 budget. I will be buying new from either Amazon or Newegg directly. I personally prefer Nvidia and MSI but I’m open to other brands. The last gpu I bought was MSI 750 Ti for $150 in 2014 which I sold for $150 in like 2020. Flexible budget is around $400. I will not mine and I just need 60 fps since I play on a 4k TV. I don’t mind 720/1080p resolutions but since everything is upscaled to 4k, the more the gpu can do, the better. These are what I found so far:

Will get ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti V2 OC for $600 since I can afford it. With my use, I probably won’t need new gpu until 8 more years.

So this card is 319mm long.

My R5 case says it supports 320mm cards in the description but on the features it says 300mm max length.

https://www.newegg.com/amp/p/N82E16811147161

Do I need a gpu support for this?

Thanks

4k gaming on such a low budget is rough. Of the list you have provided, I would go with one of the 3060s (doesn't really matter which one).

All my systems output 720/1080p and get upscaled to 1080p/1440p on the way to the TV and I’m fine with that, the TV upscales whatever it gets to 4k. It doesn’t have to be native 4k. If it can run Yuzu/Citra/RetroArch, maybe PS2/PS3 I’ll be happy. As far as PC games, I’d like to try Genshin, RTS, Steam Indie games, shouldn’t be too hard to drive most to 60 frames even if I have to turn down settings.

I’m leaning for the 3060 since they are the best at this price. You say it doesn’t matter which but do the bigger cards run cooler? Next upgrade would be 3060 Ti at ~$530-595. Is the Ti 25% better?

If you live in tropical area or dessert than yes, bigger heat sink helps. For colder country, you won't notice a lot of difference between the 2 cards, but if you're looking for low noise setup, the bigger 3 fans 3060 cards will be your choice, because you don't have to run your fan to the fullest since it has more surface area to radiate the heat off.

I have ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autism_spectrum

I apologies if my comments or post offends you in any way, or if my rage got a little too far. I'll try my best to make my post as non-offensive as much as possible.

Thank you, I’ll throw a 3060 into the 4770k system.

userbenchmark is not reliable, but yeah the ti is around 20-25% better than the non ti

Specs: 11700 | RTX 3060 | 32gb 3200mhz | 1tb 970 + 2TB HDD | Lian Li O11D Mini X Black

I’ll measure with tape tomorrow to make sure it will fits before I order, amazon threw around the 320mm max gpu size number on the case. Asus recommends 550W PSU, Corsair RM850 should have both of the 8 pin connectors I need. I will need to do full maintenance. Worse part will be taking off the cpu cooler to change 7 year old thermal paste. I don’t remember how I managed to install a CM V8 GTS on my case but I know it was a pain.

Thanks again for the help, I’ll post a picture once the system is rebuilt. I verified on YouTube this card will run everything I want fairly well. I’m going to get in trouble for putting another giant PC case next to my modded PS3 in the living room but it can’t be helped :}
