Hardware not working optimally?

Computer specs:

GPU: RTX 2060 SUPER
CPU: Ryzen 3 3300x

Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
RAM: Crucial DDR4 Ballistix Sport LT 2x8GB 2666

Storage: 

  • Kingston SSD A400 120GB (for windows and smaller programs)
  • Seagate HDD 3,5" 4TB ST4000DM006 Barracuda (for games, videos, photos, etc)

I forgot which PSU I have but it has around 650W

 

So, back in november 2021 I started having problems while playing CS:GO. My game started stuttering and I had high VAR spikes. When I play the game my GPU runs at around 90% but if it spikes my GPU usage drops to 20-30%. I tried everything I could think of to fix the problem since I really love the game.

I tried:

- Reinstalling the game
- Reinstalling steam
- Verifying integrity of game files
- Updating GPU drivers
- Checking if GPU is plugged in correctly

- Reinstalling Windows 10

 

This didn't change a thing so I started to think it is a hardware problem.

According to different benchmark websites my pc should be able to get around 300 fps in csgo but I only got about 150 the whole time I had this pc.

Now I am starting to wonder if I did something wrong while making this pc or if something is bottlenecking it. Or if something stopped working correctly.

Check the temperatures in idle and under load. Maybe something is overheating and thermal throttling.

 

Also, do you have the latest motherboard bios, the latest chipset drivers from AMD and the latest GPU drivers?

I updated the drivers and BIOS succesfully, but the problem of having lag in csgo did not get solved. I want to add that this only happens with csgo and no other games. I had no problems with this in Valorant, LOL or older counter-strike games
