Not reading HDD correctly

Hey there,
i've bought a used OptiPlex 7020. Put the drives from my old PC in. Now i am having a big propblem... when putting load on one of my HDDs it just stops reading from the hdd while it being on 100%. It's also throwing S.M.A.R.T errors. I've tried putting it back into my old PC and it works fine there. I'm really not sure what to do at this point.

load up Disk manager and try doing a format, make sure to backup any data on the HDD

Have you tried a different SATA cable and socket? Might be that you're getting checksum-errors due to a bad cable/connection. It happens. Considering the drive works in another PC, I wouldn't necessarily suspect the drive immediately.
