Star Citizen name references

A lot of the names in Star Citizen are references; one of the easy ones is the Freelancer, which is a reference to one of Chris Robert's games, called Freelancer. 

Then there are the names of the ship maker, an obvious one is Robert Space Industries, named after Mr. Roberts himself. Anvil Aerospace is a reference to Chris's old company, Digital Anvil Then we get to Origin Jumpworks, this is a reference to where Chris worked before starting Digital Anvil, Origin Systems. Another really obvious one is Arena Commander, the name of the Dog Fighting Module, this is a reference to one of Chris's old game series Wing Commander

99% Sure that they are references.

pfff if they weren't references before they are now and I too am sure they are valid or at least if not a direct reference there is a big nod in those directions.

 

In a lot of the media put out about this game there is a lot of talk about the teams past games, quite openly too so it doesn't surprise me.

Even some of ships look a like from wing commander the whole game is a reference to the good old times
