Massive performance drops with 2080 super

Hey Guys, so ive recently bought resident evil 2 remake and had massive performance issues, but now thinking about it I dont seem to get any like high performance so I asked a friend and we narrowed it down to the graphics card. Some time later i updated all my drivers and got a huge fps boost but today the problems returned. It now averages at 50-40 fps but before that it ran at solid 120 fps. Please help

If drivers fixed it once, that could be the issue again. I'd run DDU in Safe Mode to totally wipe away the current and previous drivers, and then download and reinstall the drivers fresh - it might be something residual from a previous driver version.
