Laptop display not working

So I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 about few months ago and it worked fine yesterday,but now when I turned it on the fan is working the light of the keyboard is turning on but no display to be seen, I tried to turn it off and on but it wont even do that,pls help cause I got a class presentation about web desiging and all my files are here

Does it output any signal to its HDMI port? You might still have a functional laptop. If it's not outputting anything, there might be something gone bad. Maybe it's just the display cable but it could as well be a failed component
