Lost new folder option

Hi all,

 

I am running windows 7 Home Premium and I have lost the ability to right click and from the drop down menu create a new folder. The option to create a new everything else is still there but not a new folder. At the moment i had to create a new folder over the network on the desktop from another computer and have to copy then paste then rename it in the desired location. This has become very annoying. Any solutions?

i call virus:

try running it,if it finds anything remove it.

 

if nothing is found,try to reinstall OS no other idea

if this started to happen only few days ago and u remember when u had ur pc working fine, i recommend just doing system restore to few days back when it was working fine " like 1-4 days ".

"note: if u did system restore, anything program that installed any updates during these few days will need to be reinstalled or re updated manually"

I found a solution I was just hesitant to try. Can now confirm it works for anyone else having this problem. It is caused by a bad registry key that got corrupted. still something caused that, so at least scan ur system to be in the safe side.

I have avg and it shows nothing with a fully dynamic scan. That still doesn't mean nothing there though. Gonna check via malwarebytes and report back.

now thats is odd something has screwed something up.
