If that's alright with you, do share what's the size of your house.

Are you looking to get wireless connectivity across multiple floors in the house? Perhaps you live in an apartment?

Are the walls concrete or plaster, etc.

I think without these information in context, it would be harder to recommend one that fits your needs the best

I live in a two-story house with pretty thin walls. Despite my thin walls, the router I now have is the default router from my internet provider, and it occasionally loses connectivity downstairs. The internet is mostly used for gaming through ethernet while streaming youtube, shows and movies are done through wifi.

I think you might want to consider a mesh based network. If budget is involved, perhaps POE devices are off the table, but there are still many great options.

Mesh essentially creates multiple AP's around your house that talk to each other, forming a net of sorts (no pun intended). So you place the main one wherever your current router is, then the other mesh units upstairs and downstairs further away, however you want to do it.

Brands such as Asus, TP Link, Ubiquiti, all offer great options and are well established brands, so picking either/or is up to personal preference. They also comes in pack of 2s or 3s, so pick the one that best fits you!
