So I was reading the update notes for DaVinci Resolve 17.4.4 and noticed one of the update notes was regarding systems with multiple Intel GPUs. Did I miss the memo or will Intel be the latest to join the shortages?

they are coming, will be a while for a dedicated/discrete GPU though. Also depends on where you live and price, as it all depends on how it goes.

would think it should be in the US/canada first.

Also notebooks and such, would go first it seems like.

Yes, Intel will be releasing its Arc line of desktop GPUs in Q2 this year. I'm not sure how you missed that, as it's been all over tech press for at least the last year with rumors well before that. There's even some initial preproduction reviews that seem to indicate performance up to about the level of a 3070 on their top end model.

As for availability, that's anyone's guess. The hope is that they will have better availability since they aren't relying on the same node from TSMC most everything else is using, nor Samsung's tight 8nm node production Nvidia is relying on. Intel also sort of needs market penetration as the upstart here. Trying to enter a new market with a paper launch is basically death.

My question was more geared towards the release of the GPUs. I could see though after reading it how it could sound like I didn't know Intel was making a GPU.  I was just surprised that the latest update for Resolve mentioned the GPUs so I was curious if a release date was imminent. All I know is that I need more VRAM but I refuse to pay a scalper $1 for at this point any GPU with more than 8GB of VRAM.
