Im building a NAS/media server/homelab.

Specifications:

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

ASUS ROG Strix B550-i

Crucial Ballistix 3200 2x16gb

be quite! System Power 9 CM 400W

Issue: Im trying to update bios using BIOS Flashback. I plugged in 20+4pin and 4+4pin connectors to motherboard and nothing happens. PSU fan doesnt spin up.

Is there any way to identify the problem?

You can make sure the PSU is at least not completely dead with the paperclip test.

That said, describe exactly how you're doing it. Are any LEDs on the motherboard lighting up? did you name the BIOS file correctly? I don't believe the PSU fan should spin up in this situation.

Try the paperclip test linked by Ronothan. That should give an idea if it's the PSU or something else (usually motherboard).

Also are you in a 230V country? That PSU only supports 200-240V so if you use it with less voltage (US for example) it won't work.

The fan doesn't have a 0 rpm mode, so it should spin as long as the PSU is supplying power.
