Hi everyone!

I'm gonna need a word of advice. So i have been building a pc for a friend now bcs i have done it before but i have stumbled upon a (for me) weird thing. When i put the M.2 NVMe SSD in the main slot of the Mobo it wont get detected at all. Second slot does read but then i doesnt let me install Windows 10 on it from a USB. It will say can't install bcs its a GPT drive and needs to be MBR, but reading online i can only find websites saying windows can't be installed on a MBR disk. So idk what to do, do i have to send back the Mobo or the SSD or do i get a 3th party software to transfrom the disk to a MBR disk in my own pc. (where it also gets detected). I will now add the components.

He wanted a budget replacement (rgb rich)pc for his crappy old old pc, he will use his son's used 1050 TI so thats why everything is quite low spec and no GPU, he's gonna put that in himself and i use a second hand crappy one to see the BIOS when building the pc.

Case: Antec NX310 Midi

Mobo: Asus PRIME B560M-A  <--- possible problem

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition

CPU:  Intel Core i5 10400F

RAM: Corsair DDR4 Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8GB 3200

SSD: Gigabyte 1TB NVME M.2 SSD   <--- possible problem

Wifi/bluethooth card (for bluetooth): Gigabyte GC-WB1733D-I

PSU: Cooler Master MWE 550 White - V2 PSU

I would love to get your advices or anything. Because right now i am with a extra desktop here which i cant get a windows on and its frustrating me. Is there maybe a way to install windows on my pc on that drive and then put it in the second m.2 slot in his pc? Let me know.

Greetings!

First slot won't work with an 10th gen CPU.

GPT is fine, try disabling CSM in BIOS.

when you come to disk selection delete all partitions on it so it's all free space. and lett windows create all partitions

So on my own pc i should delete all partitions and then when putting it in the new one it should be available and it makes its own?

Oh wow i didnt know, must have missed that. Thats too bad for the included M.2 cooler of the Mobo but those are really a trend right? Not actually needed? Disabling CSM in bios? I have tried that before i think i will do that next time. Thought it said that it didnt work so defaulted to CSM on last time. Any ideas about that or has it secretly still disabled CSM? (I have done the latest BIOS update btw)
