Hi all,

Looking for some advice from someone more tech savvy than myself.

I have a MSI 72rd leopard laptop.

Currently running Windows 10, version 1903. I have been trying to update this to the recent 21h2, but everytime I install the update, my laptop restarts and then fails the update and reverts back to 1903.

I have now gone as far as to factory reset the laptop and fresh install windows and still the issue persists.

I am met by a blue screen and the error code "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR".

Send help, please

I have used this tool to do incremental updates on older machines

Guide:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/wccftech.com/how-to/how-to-download-older-windows-10-versions-iso-files/amp/

Tool on GitHub:

It's really convenient. It has loads of older versions so you can do one at a time instead of going straight from a very old to very recent version

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Wait... fresh install windows? You should be able to fresh install windows to the newest version using this just fine.

Create Windows Installation Media -> Download Tool Now -> Put the files on a blank usb flash drive, and then fresh install that way.

Have you done that, and that gave you a BSOD?

I'll look this over now, thanks

I tried this before and it didn't work, but haven't tried since I formatted. Will try this first. Thanks 👍

Thanks for this.

Managed to get 1909 to work, but anything above this fails and crashes on reboot.

Get a IQRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL stop code on the blue screen.

Checked my drivers in devices and hardware and none are showing as having errors.

Any other advice?

System file checker might help. You can connect to the update service then scan your current files to have windows compare and repair. In command prompt (as administrator):

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

SFC /scannow

Ideally it can identify faulty files but if you already did this, the only thing I can imagine is get a drive with windows 10 installed on another machine and put it in this one
