Background Noise with Mic

After I built my new PC, my mic has been making a really bad background/white noise. It ruins recording or game chat. I have a pair of Turtle Beach X12s and the DSS2 surround sound card. I also use Realtek HD Audio as my drivers. I have included a sample what my mic sounds like. Thanks!

I would recommend going into the settings of your PC's recording device. Check to see if there are any 'microphone boost' options available. If it is turned on, try turning it off or fiddling with some settings.
