I've been trying to upgrade my laptop to Windows 8.1 for a while, but I always get this error message when I try to install it: "Something happened and Windows 8.1 couldn't be installed. Please try again. Error code 0x80070002". I had similar trouble with my desktop, but none of the solutions which worked there have worked on my laptop. After looking around online for other solutions, such as disabling the Windows Update process, at best I've got different error messages. I even tried downloading the standalone update ISO, but neither my "Windows 7 to 8 Pro" or the Windows 7 Licence key worked. If anyone has any ideas as to how I could get this working, it would be appreciated.

Found this by Googling that error code. Don't know if you've tried it yet, but if you haven't, try clicking the "run now" button for your OS.

Tried running that (I've used it before, to no avail) and the error code has changed to 0x80246007.
