For motherboard, anything above an MSI B550-A Pro should be plenty for the 5600X.

Case is more subjective so I will list a couple of options and go with the one you like the look of most:

Corsair 275R Airflow

Montech X2 Mesh

MSI MAG FORGE 100R

Metallic Gear Neo Air ATX

Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital

Corsair 4000D Airflow

Also, I would recommend going with an 1 TB NVME with a dram buffer. It will make your system overall feel snappier and smoother to use. Here are some options:

Storage: Team MP34 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($94.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Mushkin Pilot-E 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Silicon Power P34A80 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($94.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: PNY CS2130 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: ADATA XPG GAMMIX S7 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($94.99 @ Amazon)

This list is little above 1500$, But getting 1080p monitor for a system meant for 1440p is not a good idea. 1440p will be way better experience, So if you can afford, Get it.

Thanks for your input! are there any slightly cheaper monitors? also is sacrificing the 240hz for 1440p worth it?

dram is essentially a small buffer of fast memory for reading/writing data into the SSD. Typically a dramless drive will feel slower in download speeds and overall responsiveness of computer. Also, something to note is the 1TB nvme's are faster than their smaller capacity versions in the random read/writes and also have better endurance.

You could go up to a 5800X and get a nice air cooler or AIO. You could also get a 2x16 Ram kit instead. None of these are "needed", but it will make your computer run nicer and smoother in general.

Is there one with USB-C and with 2/3 HDMI ports?

You don't connect the monitor to the motherboard, you connect it the gpu which has 3-4 hdmi/dp ports.

Yes that case is fine, has fans in it already. You won't need anymore.

Only the gigabyte one doesn't have usb-c. The other three should be fine

I am pretty sure the 3060 has a similar performance compared to the 2060 which can definitely not run QHD. Even a 3060ti cannot run AAA games on QHD. I would go for FHD 240 if doing works that do not require good hardware. If you are doing AAA games or heavy graphic works, then go for a 144 since a AAA game won't be able to go more than 144.

It wont be able to push 240 FPS in AAA games anyways, Only in esports alike titles. But 3060 is capable of 1440p on normal FPS, It can hit high FPS in less GPU demanding games and it will be able to get 60FPS in most AAA titles, So 1080p VS 1440p is big difference in image quality, I don't see any reason to get 1080p panel.

USB ports at the back can be used for mouse, keyboard, and any other USB devices. You can also use the front ones for the same things

Oh so that warning might be relevant, might be not. The B550 boards were released before ryzen 5000 series were launched so some motherboards out there might not have the updated bios to support it. The mobo has a bios flashback you can use to update the bios to the latest bios even without a supported CPU. Here's a link to a video on how to do it:

If you can't get an image to your monitor, try doing what the video is instructing. Hopefully it will ship with an updated bios though.
