I've got a motherboard that supports DDR4-2666 MT/s and i want to upgrade my cpu, but all my upgrade options have a max speed of higher than that, can i still use one of those cpu's?

your sentence is confusing youre talking about ram speeds then changed the topic to cpu.

if you mean that u can use any of the cpu then yes unless the cpu has a different socket than your motherboard

You can use slower memory than the max supported by a CPU, yes. There's no problem using slower speed memory in terms of compatibility.
