12900K Cooler

Hey, i want to buy a 12900K but most reviews i have seen say, that it uses a lot of power and it gets very hot. Currently i am using a 280mm aio. Would this be enough to cool the CPU? Cant fit a 360mm aio in my case because my GPU is too long and it blocks the front slot. Only other cooler i could use would be a custom watercooler with 2*280mm radiators.

280mm should be sufficient as long as its of decent quality. Also, the chip is hot yes, but only under certain work loads that are not indicative of normal everyday use. For a pure gaming work flow, a top end air cooler should be sufficient for cooling. However, if you're doing lots of heavy loads like video rendering, 3d modelling etc.. then you will want to look at water cooling with a top AIO or custom loop.

I am using a Corsair H115i RGB PLATINUM.
I guess the best thing to do would be to buy the CPU and a mainboard and test the temps with this cooler. If the chip gets too hot, I'll try going for a custom loop with 2*280mm rads.
