It was apparently the usb, to new for that lol, got a 5+ years old usb from the bottom of the forgotten trunk, cleant it and used it, seems to be flashing fine now, bot the usb light and the bios light are flashing now, thanks for the advise. (Now, if I understand correctly, when it is done the green light will turn off as well as the usb light right?)

The blinking light should turn off.

This is the most comprehensive guide i've found for Asus boards.

I finally got the mobo, had my usb set up with the latest bios, connected the mobo put in the usb(fat32 32gb with the renamed bios) and powered the mobo on, clicked on the flashback button and it flashed 3 times but then went solid green.                I read that maybe that means that it is already on the latest bios, but still want to confirm here before doing something dumb

When you say you powered on the mono, what do you mean? The only thing you should press is the flashback button after powering on the PSU. Is the USB stick in the designated port?

Sorry MoBo, typing from my cellphone. And yes, it is the slot that says bios

Wait, that was my typo, not yours. What I was getting at is what did you power on? You only power on the PSU, then press the flashback button. You shouldn't be turning on the Mobo at all.

Ok, I connected the mobo to the PSU and then plugged in the usb to the bios slot, powered on the psu and the bios colored on, then pressed the bios button and flashed 3 times then went solid green

That's a failure to flash.

A number of things you can try.

  • Smaller the better flashdrive, preferably USB2. In addition, just try another USB stick.
  • Ensure the USB drive is FAT32 with only a single partition.
  • Ensure you have the correct BIOS for your board. If there is a Wifi version, and you don't have the Wifi model board, for example, that will not work.
  • Ensure the renamer application runs and renames the file.
