My setup is a bit cumbersome and a lot of it is thanks to the space I have available here. I basically have three desks lined side by side. The one on the far left is where my wife works, the one in the middle is where I work and the one on the far right is where the TV sits on. It's a pain in the ass to constantly have to unplug and plug cables whenever I want to switch from my monitor over to my TV that's running through a capture card.

For that reason, I got a Baseus HDMI switcher that doesn't require external power. Problem is, it loses signal every few minutes. Doing a bit of research, I found that non-powered HDMI switches have trouble with signals that need to be sent past a certain a distance. I'm running a 3-meter 4K 60hz certified cable from the TV, through the capture card that's pulling the signal from my PC and into the HDMI switcher and I'm starting to wonder that's the culprit of the loss of signal.

Do you guys know if that's indeed the case? If so, what's the maximum length recommended for non-powered HDMI switches to work without any issues?

I would sy less than 3m total length (i.e. counting both the cable to the switcher and after it). At 4K60 you'll typically get 3-5m on a single cable without going for fancy optical ones, and the passive switch will introduce some loss reducing that.
