Games keep on crashing

Marvulusx

Hi!

I've got a question about some of the games installed on my PC. The games in question are Rust and Grand Theft Auto V, both on steam. The games share a similar problem: I am able to start the game up, but the game crashes as soon as I join an online lobby. Here's a list of things I've tried:

-verifying file integrity on both games, no files were missing

-clearing my steam download cache

-lowering graphics to the bare minimum before joining a lobby

-scanning for malware, no malware was found

-updating gpu drivers

-restarting my PC multiple times

None of these methods worked. I was able to play these games just a month ago, but all of a sudden they just stopped working. I am still able to play other steam games like CS:GO and TF2. I am under spec for Rust, having only 8gb of RAM instead of the recommended 10gb, but once again, the game worked perfectly just a months ago.

My PC specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3350G

GPU: AMD RX570 8gb

RAM: DDR4 8gb 2666mhz (single channel)

Could anyone please help me with my issue?

ive seen games get an update ( space engineers comes to mind)  and cause this issue.... never look at the minimum specs on steam always look at the recommended as the absolute minimum.

i'll be honest and say i would never pare anything less than 16 gig of ram with G series Ryzen....

oh and you didnt mention the motherboard .....

maybe check the bios and see if you have disabled " CPU spread spectrum "

current main system: as of 1st Jan 2023

motherboard : Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

ram : 16Gig Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz

OS :multi-boot

Video Card : RX 550 4 GIG

Monitor: BENQ 21 inch

look at windows event viewer to narrow down the issue!

also use CCleaner to fix Reg issues.
