So my pc stopped booting up after i changed the ram speed settings in the bios (i know its stupid) so i think that killed my cpu. So i then bought a New cpu lga 1155 i5-2400 and i replaced it. But it still gives me 5 beeps while im sure the cpu is not dead as i just bought it. Is it possible that my motherboard is dead? I also reset the bios and i even replaced the cmos battery.

Yes i checked and i reset the bios. I have tried multiple things but nothing works. And ith reseting bios i mean taking the cmos battery out for 1 minute and then put it back in. I even used a second one i had. And i searched up and 5 beeps generally mean a cpu error.

Im willing to bet your board has a manufacturer, and a model , and that more than one was made. So chances are that a replacement can be found

The power must be off on the PSU and or unplugged from the wall.

Remove the battery for 10 minutes. Jump the cmos jumpers for 5 seconds.

Install the battery, and turn the psu back on. Then try posting the board.

I found out what the problem is its nothing with the cmos battery but my socket of my motherboard is dead.
