Cleaning up FreeNAS recycling

We use a FreeNAS server for video editing at my company.  As projects are completed they are moved to an unraid vault and deleted off the NAS. This requires the project to also be deleted from the NAS recycling.  A few people have made the mistake of trying to delete their entire .recycle root folder which starts a feedback loop of piling up .recycle folders within each other and taking up large amounts of storage on the server.  I'm curious if there is an effective way to permanently delete these copied recycle bins.  Would it just be to delete each individual folder within them?
