I got my cpu fan, everything is hooked up, but im unable to install windows. Every time i get to the screen for loading into the windows install, my pc freezes up. This also happens when i dont try to install windows, and just load in without anything on my ssd. Any idea on why this may be? I've already reset my bios, tested my ram sticks, and loaded my usb through different partitions. This is my first build, and the majority of stuff is 2nd hand.

ooof... this could be multiple different reasons and hard to trouble shoot if it is your first build.

to figure out what is actually wrong

1. check the temperature of your system in bios and just let it run there for a while and see if there is any excessive temperature after (lets say 10min) anything above 60c is a concern

2. How did you validated your RAM? and if you used something like memtest it didn't freeze during the test?

if above 2 is yes.

3. try taking your system out of your case, place your MOBO on top of your mobo box with antistatic plastic bag(the plastic bag MOBO was in) under the MOBO

and try again

 - this is to check your case is not shorting your MOBO

if it still freezes during the install

you should get your mobo/cpu validated

AFAIK, that is not recommended. The outer part of the bag is conductive, and can cause problems. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

In his video titled "I Visited Apple's Secret iPhone Testing Labs!", he has shown that he makes no effort to fact check Apple's claims, and takes it at face value. How did you test the RAM? I'm thinking memory issue.

I tried each stick seperately and i have 8 gbs lying around somewhere that i can try, but i havent found them. I think it might be either a motherboard issue, or a psu issue. I really dont know though.

Well just because it posts, doesn't exactly mean it's stable and 100% working. It could also be the other things you've mentioned, but RAM would sort of be the most common and easiest to rule out first.

I would put PSU at the bottom of the check list.

random freeze during install usually came down to either RAM or Case issue in my experience.

As you have mentioned that you have tested the RAM then I would check the temperature in bios (for correct install of CPU cooler/thermal paste etc)
and if it persist I would take the mobo out of the case and run it again.

if the problem still persist, then changing mobo would be my next step

Sadly it has nothing to do with the ram.
