Hello

My friend has i7 8700k on tuf z370  his ram recently stopped working what im wondering is if my spare adata spectrix d41 3200mhz 2x8gb ram could help him out  it is compatable with intel and amd  has xmp 2.0.

I tried to check the qvl thing but sadly didnt find anything and its strange beacuse this specific ram came out i think the same year as his specs.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The RAM will work and most likely with XMP enabled.

Intel RAM compatability is so good that I'd struggle to believe you if you said it didn't work. This isn't really because Intel makes such good memory controllers, it's just because the RAM is made for Intel. Don't forget: all RAM for the last decade was made for Intel systems. AMD was totally irrelevant until 2017. All RAM designed before about 2019 was made to be put in an Intel system.

BIOS will automatically determine the XMP profile that is saved on the RAM modules. You just have to enable XMP and/or select the profile that matches the frequencies.

A Z370 TUF board should be able to do some RAM OC. Just try, and if something goes wrong just reset the CMOS

so basically what happened to him is he had 2x8gb 3000mhz corsair vengenace and in august of this year one of the ram sticks became faulty doesent work ...so now he has 1 ram stick of 8gb  the additional problem is his ram is out of store warranty thus why since i have spare ram i would give it to him if it works  thats the situation .

I'm not saying RAM can't die. I'm saying that either your RAM will work in that system, or else it won't work at all. It either runs on Intel, or it's broken
