Budget (including currency): About $1000USD without GPU

Country: Indonesia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: A lot of different games, like BDO to fully modded skyrim. Video editting etc when I need to.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Existing Parts:

A keychron keyboard, logitech mouse and an Asus TUF 1080p 144Hz monitor 24 inch, some storage devices like sata 2.5inch ssds and hard disks.

The PC is basically from scratch, no existing parts.

My current spec list without GPU is (USD - Prices converted from my country):

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x - $305
MOBO: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk - $220

RAM: G Skill Trident 8x2 3600 - $120
PSU: Corsair HX750 || Seasonic Prime Platinum 750W - $175

GPU: Not in my budget atm, I'm planning to buy a 3060 TI when prices are more reasonable. I will buy the cheapest alternative I can find to get the PC running at least. Probably a 750 or something. - $80?

Case: A full tower case, looking at Lian Li atm. around $100

So around $1000 to get my PC up and running. My upgrade plan is to get a gen 4 SSD eventually, 2 more monitor of the same type and a GPU.

Big question is, is the price worth it for the spec I'm getting? I'm aiming for 10 years with this thing. I have previous experience building a PC and my ivy core i5 lasted me a looonggg time.
Also I'm quite unsure about the Motherboard and PSU, maybe there are better options idk, any suggestions appreciated!

I don't know what are available in your country and what not, But in US market, You can save around 50-70$ on motherboard and still get pretty decent one. Save around 50$-60$ on PSU as well, 650W gold power supply will be absolutely enough for 3060 ti. That'll give you enough money to get hands on 5800X, For long time it'll be better option. Also make sure rams are CL 16 and if you can get Crucial ballistix or Ripjaws V 3600 CL16 for cheaper get them to save some money as well.

Also 60-70 USD case will be enough, So my advice is to save little on other parts and get yourself better CPU.

I wish I can get US prices.
The 5800X is around $60 more expensive.
The MSI B550 is about $40 more expensive.

I'll try to check for cheaper parts to fit in the 5800X. I'll be back!

Didn't know that about RAM I thought the speed is all that matters, will look into it thanks!

For intel, you can get by with CL 18, But for Ryzen, Cas Latency does matter, Especially considering you need to use it for long time.

Also check Intel I9-10900 and 10850 CPU's, They are also good if it's available cheaper than Ryzen for you.

The i9 and Ryzen is similarly priced here, I'd rather go AMD.

New Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x - $450
MOBO: MSI MAG B550 A PRO - $165

RAM: G Skill Trident Z Neo 3200 CL16 - $120
PSU: Corsair RM750i - $140 (Price difference was negligible with the 650W)

Case: A full tower case. $50
GPU: $80
Total now: $1005

More niche brands like Crucial and Ripjaws is kind of hard to get here. Picked the Trident Z Neo but it's only 3200, thoughts?
Downgraded Mobo from the B550 tomahawk to B550A Pro and honestly it looks pretty good!
PSU only managed to drop it down a little but it's still highly rated in the PSU list so I don't mind.

All in all similar price with a better CPU and slightly worse Motherboard. I think this is decent.
