Any way to “fix” LG 27GL83A-B horrible blacks?

Hello,

 

I recently purchased an LG 27GL83A-B and can hardly stand how horrible the blacks are. White text on black backgrounds looks very blurry, I can’t see dark areas in games while the rest is on the peak of being too bright. Has anyone found a work around to setting tweaks to help with this? Very disappointing considering how popular it appears to be.
