Officially no, Proton is a Steam native binary and has no support for anything outside of Steam. Unofficially it can be done but its really not worth the effort and risk (its very hacky) when you can just install Wine Staging and it has most of the Proton upstream fixes included anyway plus will work with almost any Windows app.

In Steam -> Steam -> Settings -> Steam Play -> Enable Steam Play for all titles.

I think OP wants to install other Windows apps in Proton, or at least thats what it sounded like to me 🤷‍♂️

If this is the case,

The simplest solution is to check Lutris, Theres a good chance another community member has made a setup script.

Lutris Wine Runners are the equivalent of Proton builds being based on Wine-TKG with DXVK.
