I've been using dual monitors on my pc for a few months now, using adapters as both my monitors are fairly old and inky support vga, then randomly my dp to vga adapter stopped working, so I ordered a new adapter (Dvi to vga this time), and now when I plug it in the monitors display one colour, then the pc turns off, and I haven't found anyone else who seems to have the same issue

not the same issue, but heard about the "turning off" problem with new cables or something with display output making a mess somehow.

does the same happen without being connected with the cables taken out?

No, it's only when I try to use both my hdmi, and DvI ports at the same time, and my displayport doesn't even detect when I plug it in.

I looked at the specs for the card and it looks like it can support up to a triple-monitor setup, so that shouldn't be the issue.  That said, things can get a little wonky when working with DVI adapters and even worse with DisplayPort.

Your DVI output is Dual Link DVI-D (digital only) and your VGA monitor is analog, and the same goes for your DisplayPort output.  When purchasing an adapter for either port, make sure it is an "active" adapter and not passive.

I'm not sure if that helps, but you might want to start there.

I can use my hdmi seperatly, and dvi seperatly, but when i plug them both in my moniotrs go blank for a few secconds, come back on, go blank again, then, show only one solid colour, then the pc turns off, turns back on and shows nothing on the screens and the fan whirs loudly.
