Hello, I have a hard drive in one of my computers that looks like it is starting to fail. It usually takes a few attempts to boot windows correctly. I am going to install a m.2 ssd in the computer soon. But i want to have windows 10 on the ssd. But i'm not sure if I should clone my files from the hard drive to the ssd as there may be corrupted files on it. Can I get activated windows 10 for free because i already have it on my hard drive? (I know this is kinda a stupid question, its just that I really don't want to pay a bunch of money for an OS I already have)

What's your current system?  If it's UEFI, the windows key should be stored in your UEFI BIOS.

Install windows clean onto the SSD, and copy shit over.  Don't dupe from a drive that is failing.

Yes I have an UEFI system. So can i activate windows on it if i just copy the activation key in BIOS?

Windows might recognize the hardware change and deactivate but you can call Microsoft support. You may want to uninstall the key first using slmgr.
