It was never gone, we Linux users already compiled that thing from source code. But as soon as they put their services offline, then a bunch of other alternatives published their modified code online. We again compiled them. LOL!

Some other alternatives in case this doesn't work fine for you :

1. http://www.flixtor.com/

2. http://www.time4popcorn.eu/

There might be more of them, but they are enough.

A way to stream movies through the bit-torrent protocol or in simple words Streaming movies through torrents. Popcorn-time arrived with a bang but soon closed their service because there were a lot of eyes of big corporations on them. So they eventually closed down, but because they had relee.ased the source code on Github, so many people went on to make their own alternative of Popcorn-Time and therefore it is back again.

When popcorn time initially launched then all the big eyes were only on them, but now there are tens of alternatives and code available everywhere through torrents, it  would be impossible for them to pull this off. They will close one service, two more will rise. It is just out of everyone's hands. It cannot be controlled no matter what.

I think this is a good thing because it will end the monopoly of Netflix, Hulu who don't even have their services in India. We Indians have no way of legally watching the Hollywood movies that doesn't suck. The DRM sucks and the slow and inconsistent Internet spoils movie streaming completely.
