Hi guys, planning for a build. Can someone tell me what's better, sn850 or 980 pro? Thanks.

I tend to think of the SN850 as a model that optimizes gaming access while the 980 Pro is more workstation oriented. But as I said before, I doubt I would notice a difference without using measurement tools.

If you like the SN850 go with it, especially if it is less expensive.

As for the secondary drive choice, the 980 outperforms the 970 Evo Plus in many cases.

For games I'll install them on my larger drive, the SN850, 1TB, along with DaVinci resolve 17 and other things like the OS. My secondary drive (980), I'll install my apps and I'll keep the edited files there, and when it it's full I'll move the files to my old laptop.

As I said, they are roughly the same. If you want to dig into the raw details there are good reviews at storagereview.com, tomshardware.com, and anandtech.com to name a few. Check the SN850 reviews, they include 980 Pro data.

There are a fair number of B550 and X570 motherboards with 3 m.2 connectors. But I suspect you mean 3 m.2 m-key connectors

I'm not aware of any sub US$250 B550 or X570 motherboards with 3 m-key m.2 connectors.
