defective type-c output/cable

NotBoraAtAll

I just bought a Type-C to display port 1.4 cable. I tried it on my laptop which has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 output and my monitor which has a DP 1.2 input. As I know DP 1.4 is backwards compatible so the difference shouldn't be a problem but when I plug in the cable, I don't get no signal. Just a second of signal appears when I plug the cable in but right after that monitor goes back to sleep. And I feel some sort of defectiveness on the laptop's Type-c port. It feels too easy to plug it in and out and the tip of the cable can move left and right inside it. I tried it on my phone's type-c port to see how it plugs in into a different port and it was actually pretty hard, had to put a lot of force into it. But I don't have any way of making sure that the cable is working, nor the port. What do  I do now? I also put a screenshot of what the monitor appears like in the display settings. If you need any other info let me know. I really want to get this fixed, somehow.

What's your laptop?

For one, the Laptop must support usb c dp alt mode in order for that configuration to work

yes it does, there is only one type-c port which is listed as a USB 3.1 Gen2 Port (Type-C) - DP Joint Port

it's a Tulpar T7 V20.3.2 17,3" Oyun Bilgisayarı | Monster Notebook . Monster is a Turkish budget friendly Notebook Brand which buys Tong-Fang products and does some modifications on them before selling it as a final product.

and it does, on it's website the port is listed as a USB 3.1 Gen2 Port (Type-C) - DP Joint Port

That could be the main issue, some usb c dp port connected to the igpu while hdmi or full dedicated displayport port is directly connected to the discrete gpu

So if you want a full gaming or performance of the laptop gpu use those port instead

And turning off igpu especially if you plugged into the wall most of the time isn't benefits you anything
