My PC was working fine for 2 weeks and then all of a sudden it started cutting off abruptly, as if you pulled the plug out the wall. The times between it turning off varies but the longest I've observed was 45 minutes. When it cuts off, the power button light on the case would still be on and the Motherboard RGB would be on as well. Pressing the power button does nothing, I have to switch off the PSU and switch it back on to turn the PC on again. CPU and GPU temps are fine: CPU Idle: 30-40C Load: 50-60C  GPU Idle: 20-30C Load: 30-40C. Event viewer shows Event ID 41 that the system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. Nothing critical before or after.

1 out of the ordinary thing that did happen is 1 day before this started happening my power company came to install a smart meter and when they swapped the meter it's possible the sudden loss and gain of power caused a surge. But the PC worked fine when I turned it back on later that day. It was the following day that this started to happen.

From searching online and this forum I suspect it might be the PSU but the fact that the power button light and motherboard RGB are still getting power after the cut off makes me think it's not that.

the motherboard rgb and power button are getting power from the 5v standby rail

if your powersupply is the problem then there might be damage to the 12v rail(the rail from which most of the power gets pulled)

tl:dr the fact that 5v standby is still working doesnt rule out a psu failure
