Battery issues

I have a surface book 2, recently when i started it up (on battery), i got an error saying i need to update my drivers (or something like that). When i clicked on it it restarted my pc, and it started installing drivers on the surface boot screen. After this my battery has been draining really quickly. Does anyone know why this has happenned? Thanks in advance.
Edit: when i go to driver updates it says it last updated like 10 days ago, but that can't be correct right?
