Ram Comfiguration

Go to solution Solved by thewill102,

Mixing RAM is never a really good idea. But since its the same brand and the same speed, what you should try is putting the 2x8GB sticks in Channel A and the 16 GB Stick in Channel B.

The 8GB Sticks in DIMM1 and DIMM2, and the 16GB Stick in DIMM4

So i have 2x8gb running in dual channel, and my friend gifted me his 16gb stick (same brand and speed). I was told that the first of my 4 dimm slots would run in dual channel, if the last one is also populated. So im thinking, should i put one of the 8gb and the 16gb stick in slot A1 and A2 and the other 8gb in B2 or put both 8gb in the A slots and the 16gb in the B2? I hope this makes sense, pls let me know if my question is unclear.

(here is the A1, A2, B1 and B2 i was talking about, no idea if this is standart across motherboards)
