Concerning high temps.

Ambient room temp is about 20-25c, the two front fans are not stock bought them separately. The front of the case sits on the edge of the desk to allow fresh unheated air to be drawn into the case and the rear exhaust has the space of the whole desk 120cm to blow away. Case only allows 1x120mm exhaust.

Everything seems pretty good from your end tbh. Also considering the temps you mentioned are sustained on maximum load, there shouldn't be any degradation per se. You can always opt in for a good thermal paste to find a difference; but considering you've just had a week, I'll suggest to wait.
If after a few months you find the temps rocketing, it'll probably because the stock paste was no good and you opt in for a swap then.
As of now, let it be.

Hello all,

I recently bought a pre-built from scan.co.uk. the model is...

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/scan-gamer-amd-ryzen-5-3600-8gb-ddr4-6gb-asus-gtx-1660-super-1tb-m2-ssd-win-10-see-info

Quick glance specs:

Asus Prime B450A-II

Ryzen 5 3600

GeForce GTX 1660 Super SC Ultra

16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz

1TB WD Blue SN550 M.2

My system has had a week to bed in and under full load I am getting 76celcius (169f) on my CPU and 88c (190f) on my GPU.

Althought these seem to stay and not exceed these temps I am concerned that they are to high over the long term. The case is quite small but the interior is very clean and no airflow obstruction.

Any advice please?

Regards Sean.

That case is horrible for airflow. Open your side panel, you will likely see at least a 10c drop in temps.

I can do this as a temp measure but wo t dust be a risk? Guess if the case is that bad I need to upgrade.

at a minimum you can use it as a test to verify. Once you get it up to maximum temps, remove the side panel and watch them fall.

The temps seem normal to me. If you're still worried, try checking the case airflow as Skillwee29 suggested and give us a update of the preinstalled cooler/fans.

Hi Andy thanks for the reply, what are norms for these components? The case came only with one 120mm extraction fan. I then both 2x 120mm intake fans which I connected 5 days ago. Seems to of not changed temps.

Hey
So you've got two stock 120mm fans right?
What's the scenario of ventilation around the case?(intake and outtake)
Also, what's the ambient temperature where you live?
Cheers

Ambient room temp is about 20-25c, the two front fans are not stock bought them separately. The front of the case sits on the edge of the desk to allow fresh unheated air to be drawn into the case and the rear exhaust has the space of the whole desk 120cm to blow away. Case only allows 1x120mm exhaust.
