Question about Notebook RAM

my GF has a 3 year old HP-Notebook with a single 8GB Stick and i have a Acer Nitro 5 which i bought last year, came with 2x8GB 3200MHz CL22 Sticks which are only clocking to 2933MHz CL22 so i thought im going to give her my 2x8 Kit and im going to buy myself a new kit (i was going for aesthetics too) (even if you dont see it) so i bought myself 2x8GB 3000MHz CL16 from G.Skill, after i build them in theyre only clocking to 2666MHz CL19 and theres no XMP setting in my BIOS, i have the impression that i lost some frames and that gaming and overall performance isnt that snappy anymore as it was before, is there a huge difference between 2933 CL22 and 2666 CL19 or am i just imagining things? I'm asking because im thinking of giving her the G.Skill sticks and taking back my original sticks.
