So I have little experience running a minecraft and ark server off of my main rig. I have a few older computers(like vostro 230 earlier 2010s computers) lying around and was wondering if I could use one of those as a dedicated server for minecraft, ark and other games. I am just curious on the recommended specs required to run a server and if I would be better off building a whole dedicated computer for servers or just keep running it off my main rig. Thoughts? Also sorry if this is not the right place to post this.

Edit: Also how much strain is this on the network?

You could def run a minecraft server off one of your older computers, but you wouldn't be able to have too many players or lots of mods installed. Depending on the specs of your computer it should work pretty well.
