Any good non-fiction books?

Covalent

Anyone know of any good nonfiction books that have to do with tech in some way?

The...the... the Steve Jobs biography?

"M. Aronnax." replied the Canadian, "your arguments are rotten at the foundation. You speak in the future, 'We shall be there! we shall be here!' I speak in the present, 'We are here, and we must profit by it.'"

The Compound  By S.A. Bodeen

Doesn't have much to do with tech. However it's an amazing read. It's this very rich family. (Basically Bill Gates). He builds a bomb shelter in the middle of nowhere, that no one knows about. The workers who built it were all blindfolded on the way there. Anyway Nuclear fallout occurs. Everything goes downhill from there. It's really really good read. Quick-ish too.

A few I have just finished recently (not tech related...sorry)

Marx - A nineteenth century life (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Karl-Marx-A-Nineteenth-Century-Life/dp/0871404672/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396284769&sr=8-1&keywords=marx+nineteenth+century+life)

Forget any preconceptions and ideas that followed, this is a decent read about the man and his life.

Iron Kingdom ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Iron-Kingdom-Downfall-Prussia-1600-1947/dp/0140293345/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396284830&sr=8-1&keywords=iron+kingdom )

A history of Prussia until it dissolution 70 years ago.  It's a little shallow in places but is still a decent introduction to the Baltic's lost state.

Sleepwalkers ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Sleepwalkers-Europe-Went-1914/dp/0141027827/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396284997&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=sleepwakers )

It's a history of the times and events that led to the war 100 years past.  It's not a history of the war.  It also helps dispel some of the myths surrounding German faults.  A fascinating read if a little hard going.

The Last Train to Zone Verde ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Last-Train-Zona-Verde/dp/0241143675/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396285124&sr=8-1&keywords=The+Last+Train+to+Zona+Verde+-+Paul+Theroux )

Travels around south west Africa :-)
