Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: modded gaming dedicated server exclusive 

 

im trying to find all the information i would need to build a dedicated game host server i can get my hands on a xeon e5 2697(used) for about $200 or i could get an amd threadripper 1900x near $200(new). i would like to know which would be good in the long term. there would be about 5-10 of us playing on any server i upload for us to play on i would like to be able to put heavily modded Minecraft/Ark and other building sim games and not sure how much ram would be good to start with or the motherboard and CPU cooler i would need
