Surface Pro 7 Windows Hello camera

Hi, I know this may be a bit of a strange one but I've been trying to find out on the Surface Pro 7 I have, it has two front facing cameras. One is the web cam and the other is the Windows Hello camera.

 

I usually have a little privacy tab covering the front facing cameras on my devices and the thing I wanted to know is apart from Hello, can that camera do anything else and do I really need a privacy tab on it?
