My Router's (TP-Link WR840N) Admin page is fast and responsive only till my ISP's connection (PPPoE) is active. Whenever there are problems at there end, meaning router is not connected to internet, Operating The Admin Page Sucks(on every browser), first i thought it was due to congestion, there are just 2 other networks and i tried switching bands while my isp was down. But as soon as connection gets online, the admin page gets snappy again.

@Aterisk

Is this your personal router or an ISP-provided one?

If the internet connection is giving problems then the ISP must address the issue. You’re not paying them for bad service.

Furthermore, why would you need to access the administration page if the internet is down?

The router Tp-link 840N was a personal buy.

Why access the administration page if the internet is down?

-- Because sometimes manually disconnecting and reconnecting , with given Isp username And passwrd does the trick. And for that you need access to router's settings.

When did you buy that router and how fast is your broadband?

I'm a little confused as you said when PPPoE is active the Admin is laggy, then go on to say its snappy once you are online, so what do you mean by these things?

Do you mean it becomes laggy when the connection is actually busy such as downloading?  That would make sense if your broadband is faster than the router can handle and so its CPU is maxing out under load.

DATA Speeds = 50Mbps up / 50Mbps down      (should i upgrade my router?)--

Thank you for reading my post ,

I am not sure how to explain .. its a surprise for me too..

Well to access Admin page i type (192.168.0.1 or tplinkwifi.net) right ? There you have many options like guest net. , band.. control.. , etc...

If I m right,

this page 192.168.0.1 is present(stored) on routers and is not stored on any tplink website.. right?

Now the problem is ,,

When i m connected to my isp everything is fine.. internet works great ... nc

But , when i m not connected to my isp , say they are having maintenance break... or i just pulled the rj45 off my wan port ...

accessing 192.168.0.1/tplinkwifi.net (Admin page) is sluggish as hell ... and slow...  -- which i dont get ...

I m going to buy a new one.. But i have to know to enrich my knowledge... No pressure though...
