RX 480 (Sapphire Nitro + OC 8GB) motherboard compatibility issue

gio_kiborg

Hello,

I have strange issue with RX 480 and motherboard compatibility:

It is working fine on one motherboard (Asus Prime B350-Plus), but is not detected at all on another: Gigabyte B360M-DS3H (BIOS is last version F17b)

It is not detected even in BIOS (UEFI more correctly) and of course not in Windows as well.

I tried the following:

  1. cleared CMOS (removed cables, CMOS battery, shorted battery pins...)
  2. Turned on the secure boot mode,
  3. Disabled CSM in bios,
  4. Manually changed PCI-e speed to Gen 2/3

Primary graphics adapter is set to PCI-e, but it does not show up in BIOS (there is option to check PCI devices, which does not shows anything when RX 480 is connected, but shows Nvidia cards.

I disabled iGPU (CPU is 8700 with Intel HD 630) and PC did not posted at all (5 short beep only, which as I understand is related to GPU)

As I mentioned, B360M-DS3H  works fine with Nvidia cards (GTX 1080ti, RTX 2080)

One person suggested to open card's bios in Polaris BIOS Editor and change something (even 1 MHz), save and flash, he wrote, that he overcome compatibility  issues with RX 460 and some brand mainboards (such as HP) with this trick, but has not tried it on RX 480,

I checked Polaris Bios Editor and apparently there might be some driver issues with custom vbios, so I will keep this as last resort,

Any ideas what I can try?
